Springing ahead

Although I have been counting down to Spring…this loss of hour is really kicking my butt! I’m sure I’ll be over it in a couple of days, especially when it is light out at 7:00!

This weekend was fairly unproductive but enjoyable none the less. I am still not feeling 100%, and on Saturday spent the day in bed. I have been nauseous for about two weeks now and although it’s getting better, I still get overwhelming bouts of nausea every once in awhile. Incredibly frustrating.

Sunday I was feeling much better and had a date day with Christopher. We did some running around and on our way home we drove past one of the lakes in town which is still frozen over. I have never walked on a frozen lake, and wanted to do so before winter ends.

I was nervous for sure! I come from somewhere that lakes NEVER freeze over, and Chris comes from somewhere they drive their snowmobiles on the lakes. This was somewhere in the middle.

After my big adventure :P, we grabbed some Starbucks and headed to a movie. I later learned this was Chris’ first Starbucks EVER!

It was deelish! I don’t often have Starbucks as I can’t justify the cost, but I had a zillion gift cards lingering around from Christmas.

We saw the Adjustment Bureau, which was pretty good. It was the first Matt Damon movie I’ve ever seen (I don’t see a lot of movies) and I was impressed.

What did you get up to this weekend? Any Matt Damon movies I MUST see?

  1. Have you ever seen ‘Team America’? Whenever I hear ‘Matt Damon’ all I hear in my head is – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWTzyU5MFgM

I love spring! Our clocks go back in 2 weeks time, I’m looking forward to it. Today was the first day when I could go outside without tights on, surely beach weather is just around the corner!!

Walking on a frozen lake is sooooooooo beautiful! I haven’t done it for too long … And I also don’t frequent Starbucks too often (for it’s too expensive), but once in a while, having some of its coffee is really nice!

i’m so excited for it to be light out later!

  4. what??? i don’t see a lot of movies either, but Matt Damon is like a staple in this house. the first Bourne Identity is one of my faves, also Oceans Eleven (the first one in the series.) you should check ‘er out!

  5. I think I’m way too chicken to walk on a frozen lake. And now I want Starbucks. I hope you’re feeling better.

ohmygoodness, I’m TERRIFIED to walk on frozen lakes! Here in MN people drive their cars across them but I won’t even let my kids step on them. My husband thinks I’m silly but I’m like you – where I’m from, lakes don’t freeze and I just can’t trust the ice here. Even if it is like 4 feet thick…

I didn’t think I would be so scared, but alas I’m a wuss. What you can’t tell from the picture is that I am really only about 10 steps from the shore!

I loved Matt Damon in the Oceans Movies too. He’s also really good in a movie called “Courage Under Fire” with Denzel Washington. Feel better!!
